The Lord Jesus Sends His Preachers to Proclaim the Gospel Everywhere
God has reconciled the entire world to Himself in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is not one Gospel for Jews and another for Gentiles. This one Gospel is for the whole world. Whoever believes this salvation has eternal life. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Faith comes first, and the confession of that faith follows. He confesses as he believes. But how can one confess a Gospel he has not believed? And how can one believe in what he has not heard? And how can he hear unless it is proclaimed to him? And how can it be proclaimed without a preacher? And how are the preachers to go unless they are sent? Therefore, Christ our Lord has graciously instituted the office of preaching and has authorized and sent His men into the world to proclaim the Gospel and to baptize in His name that many may hear, believe, and be saved.
