What Comfort Can We Find in a World Doomed for Destruction?

/ 57:36

Though our sin brings consequences upon the world (Isa. 39:1-8), God extends his comfort to his people (Isa. 40:1-2) by revealing his glory through his abiding word and promising a reversal of sin’s consequences (Isa. 40:3-11).

Scripture Reading:

Isaiah 40: 3-5 ESV

3 A voice cries:
“In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord;
    make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be lifted up,
    and every mountain and hill be made low;
the uneven ground shall become level,
    and the rough places a plain.
5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
    and all flesh shall see it together,
    for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
