What Happens in a World Without Christ's Advent?

In a world without the incarnate Christ we would be living in vain pride (9:8-12), being misguided by our leaders (9:13-17), while seeking to fulfill ourselves but remaining empty (9:18-21)... and God's wrath would be on us still.
